Visit websites with
anonymous referrer
Allows an
Internet user visit
websites with
anonymous referrer
that is without
identifying a
referring source
where a user came
from.
There are some
circumstances when
you visit a website
via a link from a
another website or
e-mail and you do
not wish to identify
a referrer website
you came from
because whenever you
click on a direct
link you leave a lot
of private
information about
yourself and your
browsing habits to
unknown third
parties.
For example, you got
an e-mail from your
mother-in-law asking
to visit her
personal website. If
you click on that
URL in her message
she will see in her
website log file
that you visited her
websites.
Now she knows
exactly what day and
what time you opened
your home e-mail and
visited her website
so you can't really
make up an excuse
that you were out
town on a business
trip that day and
for that reason you
could not visit her
birthday party.
But if you just
highlight that URL
and press a button
you will open her
website and she'll
never find out you
saw it because there
will no referrer ID
in here log files
(unless she knows
your static IP).
Quite often it is
better to hide your
referrer source when
you visit websites
via search engines
because website
owners know exactly
which search engine
you came from and
what keyword phrase
you used and some
companies collect
and use such info in
a manner you never
wish they did.
Hide your referrer
source with just one
click. |

URL in the browser

you visited.
Don't let your boss
to see what you did
during your work
day.
Preserve your
privacy! It takes
just
one click. |

Protect from scams
Helps Internet
users to avoid
online e-mail scams.
We all get bombarded
with all types of
those "Your bank
account fraud alert"
messages. The idea
of the scam is to
present you a
message pretending
to be coming from
your bank and which
looks absolutely
real. As a rule they
put bank's real URL
in the message so
you do not have any
doubts that the
message is genuine.
But the trick is
that behind the real
bank's URL they put
a hidden URL inside
an HTML code which
when clicked on
leads you to their
scam website where
you get robbed.
Of course, the best
practice is not to
click on anything in
such e-mail at all,
but if you are lazy
enough now you can
avoid the scam by
simply highlighting
the real bank's URL
they provided and
visit your bank
website directly.
Save yourself your
money and big
headache.
Just one click will
do it all. |
